Madano News - Prestigious Oxford University School Appoints Madano Partner to Development Board

Oxford University’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment has appointed Michael Evans, partner at strategic communications consultancy Madano, to its newly formed Development Board.

The School is led by former Chief Scientific Adviser to Her Majesty’s Government Sir David King, and is the first organisation in the world to bring together governments, businesses and leading academics to tackle global environmental issues.

The Board is chaired by Jeremy Palmer, former Chairman and CEO, Europe, Middle East and Africa at UBS. The Board will support Sir David King, the Director of the School.

On appointing Michael to the Board, Sir David said, “The Board includes an array of talent bringing their expertise from different sectors to help us tackle climate change the most pressing issue mankind faces today. Michael’s experience working within government and now in the private sector on key environmental issues provides me with a unique insight and expertise which I value highly.”

Evans said, “If we are to tackle climate change then government, business and academia have to work together and act fast. The Smith School provides the nexus for these three groups and I am delighted to have the opportunity to help it in this crucial mission.”
